Although there is some knowledge about astral projection, some terms may not be known. These are astral body, astral plane (dimension) and silver cord. Let’s explain these terms so that you can both be informed and deepen your experience:
What is the Astral Body?
The astral body is defined as a spiritual or energetic body that exists outside our physical body. The astral body can move independently of the physical world and have experiences on the astral plane.
Characteristics:
- It moves consciously the moment it leaves the physical body.
- Emotions, thoughts and consciousness are connected to the astral body.
- During astral projection, it moves outside its body in the physical world and can go to different places.
Experiences:
During the separation of the astral body, there is often a feeling of floating, flying or instantly reaching different places.
What is the Astral Plane (Astral Dimension)?
The astral plane is defined as an energetic and spiritual dimension different from the physical world. This dimension is considered a plane where astral projectionists explore, communicate with different beings and have various experiences.
Characteristics:
- Timeless and spaceless: The concepts of time and space are different in the astral plane. One can travel to different places instantly.
- Ideas and feelings materialize: Thoughts and feelings can take form on the astral plane. It is possible for imagined things to become tangible.
- Energy beings: Angels, spirits or various energetic beings can be encountered on the astral plane.
What is the Silver Cord?
The silver cord is the energetic bond that keeps the astral body connected to the physical body. Even if the astral body is separated from the physical body during astral projection, the connection continues thanks to this cord.
Properties:
- Flexible and extensible: No matter how far the astral body moves away from the physical body, the silver cord stretches to maintain the connection.
- It provides energy flow: The silver cord allows energy and consciousness to flow between the astral body and the physical body.
- Fear of disconnection: There are beliefs in the spiritual literature that severing the silver cord will result in physical death. However, these views are limited to esoteric beliefs and have not been proven.
